A message from World History Association (WHA) president Marc J. Gilbert and James Diskant, chair of the WHA Teaching Committee. Please offer any suggestion to improve the call of or volunteer to join this effort!
The World History Association is interested in promoting world history-related activities at the National Council for the Social Studies Annual Meeting, which will take place in 2013 in St. Louis from November 22-24, 2013. If you interested in putting together a proposal for a panel, volunteer to man a booth or other event, please submit your name/ideas to Winston Welch at thewha@hawaii.edu. Information about the conference can be found at www.socialstudies.org/ncss2013proposals The proposal deadline is February 25, 2013. In the past, many members have given talks and supported panels, but the WHA leadership and membership at large would like it to have a larger profile at NCSS given the current challenges to social science education in general and world history in particular. If you share these concerns and will be in the St Louis area in late November, please let the WHA know so that we can engage in world history-related activities together.
