A Century of Saints

Margaret "Peggy" Cane '50

Peg-CaneMargaret "Peggy" Cane enjoyed a successful career in St. Scholastica's Nursing Department for 20 years. In the 1980s, when the College created its unique RN completion program for nurses who had received a two- or three-year diploma and wanted a bachelor's degree, she traveled weekly to Brainerd and later Grand Rapids to advise students, develop curriculum and coordinate with other faculty. The program was the forerunner for the off-campus 2+2 Management program. In 2010, the College presented her with the Sister Ann Edward Scanlon Award for dedication to Scholastica and to community. She died in August, 2012.
