John Baggs


John BaggsJohn Baggs was St. Scholastica's winningest coach in any sport. Head baseball coach from 1992 to 2009, he built the team into a national powerhouse on the NCAA Division III level. He had a .735 winning percentage and missed only one game in 17 seasons. He was only 24 years old when hired in 1991, and the youngest head coach in the country.  He was named ABCA Regional Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2003. Throughout his career he inspired his players through a culture of support during their playing days and after. He died of cancer in 2009, at age 43.
