Kathleen LaTour is an assistant professor and chair of the Healthcare Informatics and Information Management department. She was selected as the Distinguished Member of MHIMA in 1992 and served as a member of AHIMA's Board of Directors from 1993 to 1997. She participated in the development of the AHIMA Model Curricula for bachelor's and master's level programs and is co-editor of "Health Information Management - Concepts, Principles, and Practice," now in its third edition. She was awarded fellowship in AHIMA in recognition of sustained contributions to the field of HIM and in 2004 she was the co-recipient of AHIMA's Legacy Award.
