The Rev. John Whitney "Whit" Evans
The Rev. John Whitney "Whit" Evans was a faculty member in the departments of Religious Studies and History from 1973 to 1998. He also worked as archivist for the College and the Diocese of Duluth, as well as serving as a priest at St. Scholastica Monastery, the Benedictine Health Center and two local parishes. "As an excellent teacher, he influenced many students' lives," said St. Scholastica President Larry Goodwin, who noted that Father Evans also was a prolific scholar. "Whit was first and foremost a priest, and those of us who heard his succinct and wise homilies had a peek at his mature spirituality."
