Biology Professor Gerald "Doc C" Cizadlo is a perennial favorite of students despite the challenging academic scope of his courses. He is known internationally for his podcasts of lectures; they have ranked in the top 25 of educational podcasts on iTunes. "About two-thirds of the way throug the year, " he has said, "students find that all that's necessary is to think, and that they can actually understand the materal (and) that understanding is fun . . . The students become increasingly interested and cross a threshold into a much more adult way of approaching academics. At that point, I remember why I do this."
I am a semi-retired Psychologist with a varied background to include Neuropsychology. I worked most of my career in hospital settings and learned some medicine as a result beyond my minimal medical education. I did audit the Neuro-mind second year medical school section at Case Western Reserve University while preparing as a Neuropsychologist. I have found your lectures very valuable in furthering my understanding. I live in Prescott AZ and I do a lot of hiking and greatly enjoy listening to your lectures on my Ipod. I wanted to let you know that you have another very satisfied student.
I would like to thank you for these podcasts.I am a retired instructor in the outback of northwest Montana. I taught A&P and psychology for many years in a Community college nursing program. After 12 years of retirement the memory gets abit rusty. I really have enjoyed your lectures. They both revive memory and add to them. I have both the Netter picture book and the Fox text so I am able to refer to them.
Doc C has a way of bringing light to learning. He ensures the students capture the big idea so they ultimately understand the content. This has helped many students understand & teach out in the real world of healthcare. Thanks Doc C! You are my favorite teacher through ALL of my years of learning!
I am a retired college prof (philosophy) and dean, and I have done many teacher evaluations. I can tell you that Dr. C is really special. You don't encounter many like him. I took a number of biology classes recently, and found Dr. C's lectures extremely helpful. He explains things clearly, unlike many profs. You can tell that he understands ALL of it.
I am an A&E nurse in the UK and have been listening to your podcasts for years and always tell nursing students about your podcasts.
Sadly I missed the sign-up for your 2012 semester lectures and now the list is closed. I hope you repeat the opportunity.
This prof is clear thinking, logical, and makes this subject interesting and it's no wonder he is among the best lecturers if not THE best lecturer I have ever encountered.
a gifted story teller........top man
"Can you picture it, are you with me"? Yes!! Fabulous explanations, wonderful vignettes and very helpful to comprehend difficult subject material. Thank you!
I have seriously considered attending this school just to have the opportunity to meet this man in person. I listen to his lectures daily.
