Applicant must be currently or have been in the past a resident in the service area (20 mile radius) of Tri-County Hospital in Wadena, MN, or have an immediate family member who lives in that area. Applicant must demonstrate leadership ability, initiative, and active participation in work, volunteerism, and/or community activity. Scholarship Name: Kiwanis-Friendly Duluth Scholarship

Criteria: One scholarship is awarded each year to an undergraduate or graduate student at CSS. Applicants need to write a letter stating their background, history of civic/volunteer service, extra-curricular activities, and academic achievement. Applicants should have demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to High School Key Club/Circle K members and applicants with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

Criteria: The loan assistance program in Wisconsin was established to assist rural and urban areas designated as underserved in recruiting and retaining health care professionals. For three years of service obligation in a designated community or facility, up to $25,000 of students loans (not to exceed 75% of loan balance) will be paid off for Nurse practicioners.
