Election 2010: What Do You Know About the Tea Party?
After reading Jane Mayer's investigative article, "Covert Operations," in the New Yorker, students were asked to generate long-form journalistic analysis pieces around various questions: Is the Tea Party a grassroots movement? Who supports the Tea Party? What is the Tea Party Movement agenda? Does it reflect core American values? An opinion survey was used to solicit data about what people know or don't know about the Tea Party.
