Jordan Belfort, better known as the Wolf of Wall Street,, delivered a speech about his life on Wall Street and give students a perspective on real life ethics. Belfort is a former criminal who took advantage of the stock market and plundered a lot of people’s money.
Belfort talked about how destructive his life was and how some of the worst decisions he ever made were fueled by the use of drugs. Belfort spent time in prison where he was inspired by his cellmate, Tommy Chong, who convinced him to turn his life story into one that would motivate others.
Greed was one of the main topics of his presentation. Belfort talked about how he had a false belief that greed was everything. He talked about how greed can destroy a person, and he contrasted greed with ambition, which is what a person needs to be successful.
Today, Belfort is paying back every dime he ever took from anyone for his selfish ways. He spends his time now travelling the world. He shares a message about the need to not be a greedy person and to not hurt others along the way. He also serves as a different type of life coach. He is a guy who made the mistakes and teaches people how to be successful by not making the same mistakes he made.
