St. Scholastica travelers enjoyed a spring break in sun-drenched Provence from April 16 to 24.

Their base of operation was Aix-en-Provence, the region's capital. Their itinerary emphasized local history, architecture, and art. Daily educational sessions explored religious and political history, as well as forums about the present and future political path of France, and discussion with local residents. The next alumni trip will be to Prague in the Czech Republic from March 12 to 19, 2003. Central Europe's most interesting city, Prague boasts layers of perfectly preserved architecture and intricate, storied history. It combines Gothic romance and Old World charm in a fairy-tale ambience, from the soaring height of its graceful spires to the gentle echoes of its narrow, winding cobbled streets.
