The College of St. Scholastica Reunion!
Friday evening and Saturday June 28 and 29

This year's reunion will honor reunion years ending in 2 and 7, such as the class of '52, which will celebrate its 50th reunion. Also at the reunion, the St. Scholastica Music Department is welcoming all alumni who were involved in music programs and performances to join them for 24 hours of festivity and reminiscences.

A special program will feature the Return of the Gang of Five. After a three-year hiatus, Sister Timothy Kirby, Sister Mary Jean Tuttle, Sister Agnes Alich, Sister Donna Schroeder, and Sister Beverly Raway return to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the College by performing a lively program filled with reminiscences. All alumni are welcome!

Help a college-bound student

Family and friends of college-bound students in Minnesota can get a tax break by helping a student pay for college. The tax break comes in the 529 Minnesota College Savings Plan, named for section 529 of the Internal Revenue Code.

As of Jan. 1, 2002, earnings from the investment plan are tax exempt if the funds are used for tuition and expenses including required fees, books, supplies and some room and board expenses. Some families are also eligible for state matching grants of up to $300 annually.

Relatives and friends may open accounts with as little as $25, and there are no annual contribution limits. The investor maintains control of the account. Earnings are subject to income tax and a 10 percent withdrawal penalty if they are used for something other than a qualified educational expense.

The Minnesota Higher Education Services Office oversees administration of the plan by TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing, Inc.
