Letter from the Alumni Association President

To my fellow alums:

Warm greetings to you all in this spring season.

Your Alumni Board had its annual weekend planning retreat in April. We looked to the future to anticipate the needs of the Alumni Association relative to our mission of "creating and fostering meaningful lifelong relationships and...representing and supporting the College's mission..." I am very excited about the plans the board has made.

Thank you to Monica Pappas DeVitt '67, who hosted an alumni gathering in March in her home in southern California, and to Donna Sramek Kurtz '77 and Marge Forster Colbert '60, who hosted Phoenix alumni events in February.

"We're All in Tune" is this June's annual alumni reunion and special music reunion on June 28 and 29. The Alumni Association enjoys this opportunity to connect our alumni with their classmates and the College where they made these friendships. Join us at the Monastery Tea, as we kick off the College's 90th birthday with a big cake!

The board is planning its annual summer Twin Cities events. We will again be hosting a tent at the Basilica Block party on July 12 and 13, and the annual Barbecue Tailgate event at a summer St. Paul Saints baseball game. Twin Cities alumni will be getting further information about these events in early summer.

Our Career Network is gaining strength and we continue to be excited about the number of alums who have signed up to be available to help our students in their career endeavors, as well as to network with each other.

As we transition into a new season, so too will our Alumni Association. This is my last Times newsletter as president of the Alumni Association. In my six years of service on the board I have thoroughly enjoyed the new and renewed friendships. It has been an extreme pleasure to work with such dedicated and talented Alumni Relations staff and board members. Thank you for the privilege of serving as your president. I plan to stay connected, and hope to visit with many of you at future alumni events.

Another board member is completing his two terms this June. Please join me in thanking Ken Hall '93 for six years of support and dedication to the Alumni Association.

At least four new members are joining the board. I look forward to the many exciting and creative ideas that will come with them as well as with the leadership of your new president, Melissa Graf Riebel '84. Melissa brings a genuine enthusiasm and the creative spirit needed to move forward the goals and objectives outlined by the board.

Remember, if you have stories, thoughts, or ideas to share with us, please don't hesitate to contact us. Thank you once again for your continued support of the Alumni Association and of the College.

Take care!
